Traveling during the COVID-19 pandemic? We strongly encourage you to protect your investment with pandemic travel insurance.

The following information is accurate as of August 27, 2021. We encourage you to click here for updates.

1. Create an account on the safe travels website. Next, you will need to enter your flight and hotel details into this account, as well as your vaccine or test information. Click here to create your account.

2a. Enter your vaccine information into the safe travels account.

2b. Alternatively, if you are not vaccinated, you will need to schedule a COVID-19 test less than 72 hours before your last flight departs. Be aware that Hawaii does not accept all tests- tests must be from approved testing partners and must be a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT). Click here for a list of accepted testing partners.

3. Log into your Safe Traveler account 24 hours before your flight departs and complete a health screening. After completing this, you will receive a QR code to verify completion of the Safe Travels program.

4. At the airport, some airlines allow you to pre-clear by presenting your paperwork to the gate agent. To do this, you will need your ID, QR code, and vaccine card or test results. However, if you are unable to complete this at your departure airport, you will complete this step when you arrive in Hawaii.

A few other details:
  • All travelers 18 and older need their own Safe Travels account.
  • All travelers ages 5 and older will need to be tested or vaccinated. Children under 5 do not need to provide a negative test, but they should be listed on a parent’s account.
  • People that were not vaccinated in the United States will need to present a negative COVID-19 test.
  • We encourage all visitors to Hawaii to respect locals by following all masking and distancing regulations in place at the time of your visit.

Protect Your Trip

If the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us anything, it is that insurance is necessary to protect our travel investments and keep our family safe on the road. Depending on the policy that you choose, travel insurance can protect your family in the event of medical emergencies and canceled trips. It also takes the sting out of minor trip mishaps, such as lost baggage and delayed flights. Check out Squaremouth to compare plans and choose one that fits your family.
