Napili Bay

white sand beach with turquoise calm water and palm trees in the distance

This gorgeous beach transports you back to old Hawaii, with the beautiful Napili Kai Beach Resort at one end. Napili Bay is less crowded than popular beaches in tourist areas, and has that older, low key Hawaii vibe that we love so much. Don’t forget your snorkel gear- walk up the beach to the Napili Kai resort to snorkel. Limited street parking is available, so be sure to arrive early.

Honolua Bay

Honolua Bay boasts the best snorkeling in West Maui. Sea turtles are common here, and the coral is in pristine shape. Visit early when the water is calm and the visibility is exceptional. Street parking is available, and then it is a short walk through a beautiful forest to reach the beach. The beach area here is extremely rocky, making it ideal for older kids and adults. Bring water shoes for getting in and out of the water. Once in the water, swim towards your right for the best snorkeling.

Black Rock Kaanapali

Black Rock in Kaanapali, located right in front of the Sheraton, has something for everyone. Adventure lovers will love jumping from the rock into the water, but be sure to bring your water shoes- the climb to the top is tricky and the rocks are sharp. There is snorkeling available as well, dependent on the current and visibility. While this top spot can get crowded, it is a long beach with space for everyone. Parking is extremely limited. If you are staying in the Kaanapali area, consider walking to this spot along the Kaanapali boardwalk.

Baby Beach Lahaina

Baby Beach Lahaina is the perfect spot for young kids. The beach is very shallow, so kids can walk out far into the water and play. Street parking is limited, so arrive early and plan to walk a bit. This beach is also very narrow, so it gets crowded quickly.

Protect Your Trip

Depending on the policy that you choose, travel insurance can protect your family in the event of medical emergencies and canceled trips. It also takes the sting out of minor trip mishaps, such as lost baggage and delayed flights. Check out Squaremouth to compare plans and choose one that fits your family.
